LITA: Patron Privacy Technologies Interest Group

The LITA Patron Privacy Technologies Interest Group will promote the design and implementation of library software and hardware that protects the privacy of library users and maximizes user ability to make informed decisions about the use of personally identifiable information by the library and its vendors.

Becky's presentation addresses how de-identification of patron data, technical processes and structures for building and maintaining a data warehouse, and auditing what data is being collected impacts libraries with both limited and extensive resources in their efforts to balance data analytical needs and patron privacy.
