Access to popular and professional science journals published in the U.S. and Great Britain. Full-text coverage from 1995 to present, in addition to indexing and abstracts for nearly 300 periodicals dating back to 1984. Subject coverage includes astronomy, biology, botany, chemistry, conservation, health & medicine, oceanography, physics, zoology and much more.

Google Scholar provides a simple way to broadly search for scholarly literature. From one place, you can search across many disciplines and sources: articles, theses, books, abstracts and court opinions, from academic publishers, professional societies, online repositories, universities and other web sites. Google Scholar helps you find relevant work across the world of scholarly research.

GreenFILE (FT) Tips and training on resource

Scholarly, government and general-interest information covering all aspects of human impact on the environment. Topics include global warming, green building, pollution, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, recycling, and more.

LexisNexis - Code of Federal Regulations (CFR)

SEARCH the CFR via LexisNexis. The CFR is a codification of the general and permanent rules published in the Federal Register by the departments and agencies of the Federal Government. Divided into 50 titles that represent broad areas subject to Federal regulation. Updated once each calendar year, on a staggered basis.

New York State: New York Codes, Rules and Regulations (NYADMN) file contains active regulations of agencies, departments, and institutions of the State of New York. The regulations in this source are unofficial versions as provided by the New York Legislative Bill Drafting Commission.  Official versions of the regulations are available only from the official printed New York Codes, Rules and Regulations published by the New York Department of State, Division of Administrative Rules.

SEARCH State statutes and regulations via LexisNexis.
The Rules of the City of New York is the official compilation of all of the rules and regulations enacted by New York City agencies and departments. Compiled from the 50+ agencies and departments, it contains the full text of the rules of the City of New York

Pivot Tips and training on resource

Pivot contains information on funding opportunities from many government and private sources, accessible via registration with a CUNY email address. It is the largest, most comprehensive database available through the Funding Information Portal, and access includes detailed documentation and user guides. 

SEARCH by Keyword/Topic or sponsor.  

The database also provides newsfeeds announcing new funding opportunities in the humanities & social sciences, and health & sciences.

  • To use you will need to create an account. 
  • Select "Sign Up" from the top right corner of the page.

Public Library of Science (PLoS) Medicine (open to public)

Open source collection from the Public Library of Science publishes articles relevant to clinicians, policymakers, and researchers across a range of settings that address the major biological, environmental, social, and political determinants of health.

Public Library of Science (PLoS) ONE (open to public)

Open source collection from the Public Library of Science features reports of original research from all disciplines within science and medicine. By not excluding research on the basis of subject area, PLOS ONE facilitates the discovery of connections between research whether within or between disciplines. 

PubMed (open to public) Tips and training on resource

Searches citations for biomedical literature from MEDLINE, life science journals, and online books.

Hundreds of scholarly journals and Ebooks published by Springer--not all indexed Ebooks are available fulltext. Coverage from 1997 to the present.
