Wall Street Journal Academic Pass

CUNY students, faculty, and staff can access The Wall Street Journal's complete digital content—normally $39/month—at no cost through the Academic Pass program. This institutional subscription, courtesy of the CUNY Libraries, provides free access to WSJ.com and mobile apps for the entire CUNY community.

Already have a personal WSJ subscription? Read the restrictions section below before canceling to ensure the Academic Pass meets your needs.

1. Visit the WSJ registration page URL: wsj.com/cuny
2. Sign in with CUNY Login: When prompted, sign in with your CUNY Login credentials
3. Create account: Follow the prompts to enter the requested information:
   • Account Type: There are three account types: Student, Staff, or Professor; please choose your appropriate role.
     • If you select the student account type, you must fill in two additional fields: graduation month and graduation year.
     • If you select the professor account type, you will have one additional field to complete: prefix.
   • First Name: Edit your first name, if need be.
   • Last Name: Edit your last name, if need be.
   • Email (username): Enter an email address you wish to associate with your WSJ acount.
   • Password: Select a unique password for your WSJ account.
   • Terms: Check the box for the statement "I agree to the Privacy Notice, Subscriber Agreement, Cookie Notice."
   • Click Create.

• After you have claimed your WSJ Academic Pass account, you may log in to WSJ via wsj.com or the WSJ app using the account you created during registration.
• Your Academic Pass provides 364 days of full access. (Students receive access until their graduation.)
• After your pass expires, simply visit wsj.com/cuny again to renew for another year—no need to create a new account.
• If you are hitting article limits, you're likely not logged in. Simply log back into your account to restore full access.
• Your Academic Pass works on WSJ mobile apps and any web-capable device once registered.

Not included with Academic Pass:

• Print newspaper delivery
• Articles older than 4 years

Cancel if you only need basic digital access to current articles and standard features.

Call WSJ customer service at 1-800-JOURNAL (1-800-568-7625)

• Request to switch from paid subscription to CUNY Academic Pass
• You will receive a refund for your remaining subscription balance
• Have your CUNY Login email (firstname.lastnameNN@login.cuny.edu) ready when calling

Important: Cancel your personal subscription only after successfully registering for the Academic Pass to avoid any service disruptions.
