General Information

LibGuides is a content management system used to curate knowledge, share information, and organize class and subject specific resources. LibGudes can be used as a teaching resource in many ways.

  1. The most popular is as an accompaniment to a course. It allows for providing library resources relevant to course topics as well as research assistance for class assignments. They allow for conversation and collaboration between faculty and librarians about the best material for student outcomes.
  2. LibGuides can also be used as a pedagogy tool. Faculty who are interested in studying or integrating new pedagogies in the classroom can find resources that will help them locate more information on relevant teaching and scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) materials.
  3. Finally, LibGuides can be used to host subject specific research pages to help those with research questions within a certain subject locate resources that best address those questions. Tutorials can also be created on how to use these resources as well as other library services, such as Interlibrary Loan.
